Membership DetailsNew members are always welcome. Fees are paid annually from when you first pay your membership to that time the following year.
Full MembersYou will receive 4 issues of the club magazine 'Scribe', which includes reports of recent speaker meetings, literary events, members' news and successes; results of prose and poetry competitions run within the club, and publication of winning entries. Entry to monthly, quarterly and some annual competitions require one 1st Class postage stamp per entry, unless competition details state otherwise, and members will receive a short critique of their entry. Free entry to all speaker and manuscript meetings (unless notified of a special event, where tickets will be sold to members at a reduced rate). Information on news, external competitions and events via e mail. Social events are held twice a year: the first Wednesday in August (when only one meeting is held), and the first Wednesday in December where trophies and/or book tokens are presented to winning competition entrants. Not all writers will find a large group suits them, so we always suggest you try out a few of our meetings as a visitor before joining. The visitor's fee is £1.50. Attendance at meetings is not obligatory as we realise members have a lot of demands on their time, so if you find you can't attend, or only get to a few meetings, you will be pleased to know you can still enter competitions by post. Fees are Single Person Membership £25 per year, Family Membership £30 per year and Associate Membership £10 per year. Associate MembersIf you like to write and get feedback, but can't get to meetings, we have a new type of membership just for you. £10 means that you can enter all of the above competitions and get written comments, which are always valuable whether you're a new writers or more experienced. Please see Competition Guidelines. PLEASE USE THE CONTACT FORM TO ASK FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
